I’m fitness teacher and Jiu-Jitsu teacher. I am from Brazil. I love Bali since the first time I came here in 1998. I always dream about come to live here and when I get the opportunity to work here, I came in straight away and I am so happy I made that decision in my life.

I love sports since I was a kid. I always wanted to work with something I really like. Because if you work with something you like, it would be easier and life would be better. You would not have a problem when you got to go to work because it would be a pleasure to work. Like me, I love what I do and I love sports. Sometimes I make confusion because my job and my hobby is the same.

My job is blessed job. I make good for another person with my job. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gives them confidence. Because they know how to defend themselves. After that the world would be easier for them. They are confidence to talk with anyone or go to any place.

My name is Ian MacLeod a co-founder of Nirvana Strength and also the head coach here. I have been in Asia for almost 13 years and two and a half years Bali specifically. Teaching has always been a part of me. We started Nirvana strength about three years ago.

Teaching has always been a big part of my life. It is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. Then the opportunity came to open up this gym in Bali where I really be able to focus on teaching in something specific that I really have passion about.

This gym and in everything that we do here is encompasses basically my entire philosophy about what we have been doing with regards to health, wellness, creating a culture that helps promote growth. It’s more individualistic and customized to the people that come here. That’s the main idea and goal.

My name is Ricardo. I am originally from Italy. Throughout my life for most of the time I have been a basketball player. That’s what I have been doing for so long. Italy has been home for the majority of the time but I have been lucky enough to leave and travel. To live a little bit in the UK, Dubai and of course now in Bali.

I stopped playing basketball professionally at 22 and ended up working in finance for a year. It was going great but I was not ready to get stuck. I was looking a life with a little bit more freedom. That’s when I decided to coach CrossFit and fitness. Those are the things that I am also passionate about and I am grateful I can turn my passion into a job that can pay my lifestyle which eventually led me into Bali.

Bali has been such a big part of my life. It’s where I met my fiancé. It’s where I got engaged. It’s where I grew the most as a coach, as an athlete, and as a human being.

Hi my name is Don Carlo Klaus and I’m the general manager here at Bali MMA. I am born and raised in Rochester, New York. I do a little bit everything here, I do some coaching, kind of run in the front of house and just making sure all the operations are running smoothly.

When I was really young me, I don’t think MMA had existed. I grew up wrestling competing in the us and did that through university. When I finished uni, this is when I started getting into MMA because I still had a desire to compete and to train.

I moved to Bali in August and we opened Bali MMA in October of 2014. So I have been here for almost 6 years now. I was living in Thailand where I was working at another gym in Thialand similar style of gym coaching wrestling and MMA. I spent about a year there working with my other two partners here Anthony and Andrew Leone. Then we met our Indonesian partner Steve, the four of us decided to build a destination training gym in Bali. So we all moved to Bali and opened the gym.
