I have a digital marketing business. I created my own product about a year ago which helps women to strengthen their pelvic floor with belly dancing. Because I can work virtually from anywhere in the world, it didn’t make any sense for me to be in the most expensive area in the world which made me move to Bali. Also one of my main goals coming to Bali was to film my next belly dance program which teaches women generally how to create their own belly dance routine.

A lot of women that are drawn to my program because something feels missing inside of them. They have lost the connection with themselves for many different reasons and belly dance really helps you to come into your body again and come back into your essence that is sacred and separate from everything that’s happening in your life. It’s a unique dance which helps people to connect with themselves again to feel confident in order to feel peace, joy and grounded.

My whole life I was thinking with one side of my brain. I think I always been creative but I was not really stimulated in that field. When I came to Bali I continuously met people on my path that put me in certain direction that I felt like I needed to explore more.

I went from a yoga teacher training to reiki energy healing to wise women retreats. Even I am not the kind of person that is super yoga. I don’t actually do yoga everyday. But Yoga was a gateway for me into that spiritual self-study and self-improvement world. Now I prefer dancing and embodied movement as a tool to more in tune with my nature.

Dancing for me is a form of meditation. I feel free when I dance. The only thing that matters is the music and your body in the movement. When you dance, you would hear a certain layer of music and you moved to that layer. Then you hit the next layer and then you started moving to that eventually your body became one with the music.

I was working in the corporate world. I was a headhunter. It was quite far away from listening to your heart and being spiritual and I was not very happy in that context, in that situation. I just came to a point where I didn’t want to be unhappy anymore. So I just quit and changed my life for the better

My life journey leads me to Bali where I have a strong bond already since the first time I visited here in 2000. It was something that I need to experience to become whole again. We come here to heal even we will find different ways of calling that. We might not call it healing but it is a way to seek, to feel whole again.

This is where I started to get deep into Yoga. The word yoga means unifying. It’s a way to stretch and strengthen your body and your mind. It’s a way to begin to feel the connection between the physical, the mental, and the heart. I have been practicing yoga since and I am also sharing my knowledge about it at Samadi.

I’m from the United States. I grew up in Seattle, Washington and then I lived for many years in a place called Santa Barbara, California. In 1984 long time ago I left the states. I traveled around the world for two years and then I moved to Paris. I was in Paris for seven years full time and then decided to see a bit more of the world. So I started working in the international schools. My first job was in Jakarta. I worked at Jakarta International School and then I went to Ecuador, Nepal, China, and Azerbaijan. Then I decided to find a place to settle. Bali was just one of the place I looked at and it just happened. Everything worked out when I came to look at Bali. I call it a series of fortunate events.

I came here to open a yoga house. Many people doubted me when first opened. But I believe in myself and I believe on this place. Because why would anyone not want to do Yoga here. It’s beautiful and surrounded with the ricefields.

I was born in Kentucky in the United States. Growing up was great there. I think it’s one of the best places to raise a family. I have really good memories from home.

I thought the key to happiness was to work your butt off academically and just study. In my society I was told to work hard and you will be successful. I took that too seriously and by the time I graduated with my bachelor I burned out and needed a break. So I decided to live the US to seek something new.

I went to spain and lived ther for two years. I loved being outside my comfort zone and just experiencing a new culture. Just being in Spain I could not just walk to Walmart and buy easy mac, ramen noodles or the instant processed food. That’s when I started to cook more and discovered food.

During my travel, I met people who influenced me to eat healthier food. I was more aware of plant-based and Bali is such a hub of vegan food. That’s one of the reason why I came here.
